Local News

(8/9/18) Senator Bill Cassidy says he believes the country is heading in the right direction, especially economically.

He made an appearance today at the West Monroe Convention Center to update the community on what’s happening on Capitol Hill.

He spoke with KTVE/KARD separately about his pride in the economic change.

Senator Cassidy said, “Folks are getting off the unemployment rolls, off the disability roles and into the workforce. That’s a good thing.”

Senator Cassidy says that he’ll be busy when he gets back to Washington.

Congress still has to pass a long term budget and a 5-year Farm Bill and the Senate has to decide whether Judge Brett Kavanaugh will serve on the Supreme Court.

He also says they’ll try to do it all before the November mid-term elections.
