The Caldwell Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) is warning residents about a scam that’s targeting the area.

The Sheriff’s Office has received a complaint regarding a telephone scam using the CPSO phone number.

The citizen received a telephone call from 318-649-2345. The person who made the call to our resident was a female with a foreign accent. She told our resident they were being investigated for fraud and needed to verify their personal information and bank account information. The resident was told they would be served papers in the next few days.

CPSO wants residents to know that neither this call nor any calls of this type are coming from their office.

Sheriff Bennett wants to remind residents to never give out personal information over the phone and to share this warning with family and friends.
