Ruston receives the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation’s 2018 Main Street of the Year award

Local News

(4/3/18) — There were a lot of towns in the running for prestigious award but Ruston stood out this year. Trains and exposed brick are just a couple of signs of historic downtown Ruston. The hard work over the past 15 years is not going unnoticed as Ruston is being awarded with the 2018 Main Street of the Year award.

This award is an honor given to towns that have maintained a historical feeling of a downtown area. Esma’s Alley, just off East Park Alley, officially opened today and will be the center for community events, bringing even more foot traffic to downtown.

Another project in the works is the sports complex that will hopefully bring in more visitors. Ruston will officially receive the award this May.
