Ruston breaks ground on 185 acre sports complex

The city of Ruston has officially broken ground on their soon to come sports complex!

The 185 acre complex will have 36 fields and be able to hold 6 tournaments at one time.

The complex is said to be a huge economic boost for the city.

“Over the next 20 years the use of this facility will bring about a $1.2 billion economic impact for our city and to our region,” says Ronny Walker, Mayor of Ruston.

Mayor Walker also says the complex will be very eco-friendly from the food you eat to the phone in your hand.

“Everything in the concession stand will be in recyclable containers and there will be a solar powered phone charging station,” says Mayor Walker.

The fields will also be lit with LED lighting.

The sports complex will be located at 1501 South Farmerville Street in Ruston, Louisiana.

Mayor Walker says the complex is expected to be open in December 2018.
