Rising rapper Marley G killed in Louisiana nightclub

(10/15/18) A man is now behind bars for shooting and killing two people, including rapper Marley G, at a Louisiana nightclub over the weekend. 

According to our NBC affiliate KALB, 28-year-old Jimmy McGlory has been booked on two counts of first degree murder.

Local authorities determined that Jimmy shot 20-year-old Taji Simon and 27-year-old Derrick McGlory at Borrel’s Lounge around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018. 

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to TheSource.com, rapper Marley G, whose real name is Taji Simon, was signed to Rap-A-Lot Records. 

We’re told the up-and-coming lyricist was known for provincial hit songs like “I Got Em.” The music video for that song can which can be viewed here.
