A Richwood Correctional Center security officer has been arrested after contraband was found on him during a routine shake down.
Tyre Manning, 41 of Monroe, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the Richwood Correctional Center in reference to a drug investigation. Once deputies arrived, they spoke with the shift supervisor who said he found contraband on one of his security officers during their routine shake down.
The supervisor said that the shake downs are conducted before and after every shift prior to the employees entering and exiting the inmate housing area. The supervisor said that while he was searching the arrestee’s property, he found two sandwich bags filled with synthetic marijuana (approximately 6”x5” clear plastic filled about ¼ of the way with said contraband) concealed with a potato chip bag.
The supervisor said he also located an LG cell phone and two .65oz packs of Bugler cigarette tobacco. Manning was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of having contraband in penal institutions.
His bond has been set at $10,000.00.
