The day is finally here!

The ribbon has been cut for phase one of El Dorado’s Murphy Arts District.

The six-year project that was once a dream is now a reality.

The community, state and local officials, MAD organizers and more gathered in front of the Griffin, a farm-to-table focused restaurant, to celebrate.

The event was in honor of the opening of the restaurant, MAD Amphitheater, and the Griffin Music Hall.

State officials are saying this is something amazing for South Arkansas.

“People want to live where they have the opportunity to go out and enjoy restaurants and music because it goes to quality of life, and that’s what this is all about,” Lt. Governor Tim Griffin said.

The first acts kick off tomorrow night with Train and Natasha Bedingfield at 8:00 p.m.
