Residents Vote For Possible Sales Tax Increase

This sales tax increase is for the city of Ruston.
 
The current sales tax is 8.75.
 
The vote will ask Ruston residents  to vote on a three quarter cent sales tax increase, which would take it to 9.50.
 
Ruston Mayor, Ronny Walker, says this tax would improve different areas of Ruston.
 
“It will fund 120-million dollars worth of improvements, infrastructure improvements within our city. Everything from water, sewer, new streets, bike trails, sports complex, a new animal shelter,” says Mayor Ronny Walker, City of Ruston.
 
Election Day is April 9th.
