Residents shop local during annual ‘Holiday Open House’ on Antique Alley

The Annual Holiday Open House was held on Antique Alley today.

 Dozens of shoppers walked along the street listening to Christmas carols. Each year the the annual event kicks off the start of the holiday season. 

Offering shoppers a chance to browse boutiques and markets on a Sunday and receive special discounts. A push to keep the popular street alive and encourage the community to shop local. 

“We need to accept the new and be open to things and it’s just bought a whole new venue and aspect of retail and we really are looking forward to more things coming and opening up,” said Rialto Antique Market Owner Ramona Caldwell. 

Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell said it’s important for residents to continue to shop local. 

“It’s wonderful to see every parking lot full. I had to park like three streets over it’s crazy. Everyone is just walking around outside, enjoying the pretty weather and shopping locally,” said West Monroe Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell. 

The event is held every year on the first Sunday of November.
