(1/28/19) Court records have been sealed from the public in the cases of two women accused in the 2018 burning death of a 6-month-old boy.
The Alexandria Town Talk reports the order to seal the cases was issued last week. Hanna Barker and Felicia Marie-Nicole Smith were indicted on first-degree murder in the death of Barker’s son, Levi Cole Ellerbe.
Authorities say Barker told police in July that Levi was kidnapped by men who pepper-sprayed her. A motorist reported a fire nearby Barker’s home about an hour later, and Levi was found at scene and covered in third- and second-degree burns. He later died.
Prosecutors have said Barker and Smith were in a sexual relationship, and Barker asked Smith to kill Levi. Their trials were set for January and April, respectively.
