The Rayville Police Department closed approximately (7) open cases with an arrest on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that some of the new cases matched the M/O of some of the older cases that had been closed by arrest in the months prior to these burglaries.
Chief Robinson said he, along with Investigator Jerry Davis and Officer Jessie Morris, affected the arrest of one suspect at his residence with out incident. Further investigation yielded multiple items that had been taken from each vehicle burglary.
The items that were recovered will be returned to the owners in due time.
The identity of the suspect and more details will be released at a later date.
Chief Robinson wants to remind everyone to secure there belongings in a safe place and ensure that their vehicles are properly secured. A locked door could be a deterrent for someone looking to burglarize vehicles.
