Popeye’s introduces Champagne-battered, golden flaked chicken for 3,000th store celebration

(10/4/18) Fried chicken restaurant Popeye’s introduced Champagne-battered, gold-flaked boneless chicken wings in order to celebrate the franchise’s 3,000th location. In a press release, the chicken chain say the fancy wings are available only on Thursday, October 4th.

Popeye’s says the chicken is battered using Champagne, then its tossed in 24-karat edible gold flakes. The 24 Karat Champagne Wings are only available at four locations, on Canal Street in New Orleans, one in New York, California, and the newest location in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
