Medical marijuana could soon be available to some patients for the first time in Louisiana history. Governor John Bel Edwards signed a landmark medical marijuana bill into law Thursday.
Edwards signed the bill during a ceremony in front of key legislators who guided the bill to passage.
Meantime.. a Louisiana House committee voted Thursday to kill a bill requiring private businesses to pay the same wages to men and women who perform the same work.
Senate Bill 254 was defeated on a 10 to 5 vote. Edwards released a written statement saying “the failure of the House Labor Committee to pass the Equal Pay Act today is a true disservice to the women of our state.”
Edwards went on to write, “actions speak louder than words, and the time has come to stop talking about family values and start making decisions that actually value families.”

Phil Robertson.. the patriarch of the family featured in reality show “Duck Dynasty” .. has volunteered to become the Donald’s spiritual adviser.
According to Nola.com, Robertson says “We have to be loyal to the party.” Robertson, who previously supported Ted Cruz said he was forced on the “Trump train.”
