Closing the final piece of a months long investigation.

Monroe Police arrested 30-year-old Jeremy Green for his involvement in the shooting of a 16-year-old back in September at the Parkview Apartments.

“I think they need to stop all the shooting and the killing. I don’t know what’s going on but Monroe got a real problem,” said resident Tyshira Conway.

Ten days ago police said Green went back to the complex and pulled the trigger on, Jesse Smith, another suspect in the teenager’s shooting. Now both men are jail and charged with attempted second degree murder.

“I don’t know if it’s madness or whatever, but it needs to change,” said Conway.

It’s a change Willie Cook said won’t happen until drugs are gone.
Until then he says people in the neighborhood stay safe by keeping to themselves.

“You stay in your house; mind your own business and you won’t get in any trouble. But, the drugs do need to be cleaned off the street,” said resident Willie Cook.

Police said a tipster led them to Green at a home on Lock Drive.
Proving while others are shying away some are speaking up; tired of losing friends to senseless violence.

Green is being held on more than $1,375,000 bond.
