WEST MONROE, La. — (4/11/19) West Monroe Police have arrested a man after he broke into his own home and refused to come out.
Naszir Hill, 17 of West Monroe, was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to a residence on North 6th in reference to a burglary in progress.
Dispatch told officers the neighbor saw a man damage a window of the residence and go inside. Dispatch also advised officers that the man was the homeowner, but wasn’t supposed to be there.
Once officers arrived, they saw a broken window on the north side of the residence. Backup units arrived to set a perimeter around the residence.
Officers saw movement on a window blind on the south end of the building. After several attempts over the intercom, Hill exited through the front door and was taken into custody without incident.
Hill admitted to breaking inside the residence through the window because they would not let him get his clothes.
Hill told officers he knew they were outside, but he wanted to finish listening to music and drink his alcohol before he came out.
Hill was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of simple burglary.
