Parkers Chapel Pizzeria Celebrates 20 Years of Business

Local News

PARKERS CHAPEL,Ark.–It’s a celebration of family business and longevity.

After 20 years of service, the Parkers Chapel community knows that this is a place that they can call home.

Poppy’s Pizza opened its doors July 1996 by owners, John Gross, Sandy Gross and daughter, Christi Gross.

“My dad, who is Poppy, said hey I’ll build you a restaurant if y’all will run it,” Christi said.

It started as a dream but later turned into decades of service to the community.

As for the name?

“How about Poppy’s Pizza, Christi asked. ” Because that sounds Italian, and we stuck with it.”

The family wanted to serve areas that were not normally serviced by restaurant delivery, such as Oak Manor, Fawnwood, Parkers Chapel and many others.

The main goal?

“To be able to provide lunch and dinner to those people at an affordable price and absolutely delicious food.”

Christi says a little has changed since 1996, but one thing is for certain, their service will remain the same.

“As long as they are happy, we’ll keep forging forward,” said Christi.
