OUACHITA PARISH, La. – (4/13/19) An OPSO K-9 sniffed out 75 lbs. of crystal methamphetamine in a vehicle after a traffic stop.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop Friday night on Camp Road after a vehicle crossed over the white fog line. The driver, 39-year-old Hattie Reeder of Oklahoma City, appeared extremely nervous to deputies. Reeder told deputies “there shouldn’t be” anything illegal in the vehicle and denied consent to search. Deputies called a K-9 to the scene for an open air search due to Reeder’s behavior.

At the scene, the K-9 gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputies found 75 lbs. of suspected crystal methamphetamine in 30 packages.

Reeder and the passenger, 25-year-old Sabrina Nephew of Oklahoma City, were transported to the Metro Narcotics Unit for an interview. Reeder told authorities an unknown person texted her an address where the crystal methamphetamine would be loaded. Reeder went to the address and was told to transport the packages to Florida. Nephew said the vehicle belonged to her and she was just riding with Reeder to Florida.

Both women were arrested and transported to OCC.

Nephew was charged with Possession with Intent/Distribute/Manufactuor of CDS-II.

Reeder was charged with Possession with Intent/Distribute/Manufactuor of CDS-II and Improper Lane Use.
