OPSO: California man found transporting 100 lbs. of marijuana through Ouachita Parish

OUACHITA PARISH, La. – (4/13/19) A California man was found transporting approximately 100 lbs. of marijuana and marijuana e-cigs in Ouachita Parish. 

On Friday, deputies made a traffic stop on a Nissan Armada traveling south on Camp Road for crossing over the fog line. The driver, 38-year-old Jason David of Hement, California, admitted to deputies that he was hauling narcotics.

Deputies found approximately 100 lbs. of marijuana packaged in large plastic bags, boxes with approximately 2,500 marijuana e-cigarettes and a small amount of meth.

David was transported to Ouachita Parish Metro Narcotics Unit where he told authorties he had bought the marijuana in California for $30,000 and was on his way to Florida to sell it for $100,000.

David was arrested and transported to OCC.

He was charged with Possession of a CDS, Schedule II, Distribution Possession with Intent of CDS 1 Narcotic and Improper Lane Use.
