WEST MONROE, La. — (4/28/19) The Ouachita Parish Special Crimes Apprehension Team arrested a West Monroe woman after receiving an anonymous tip of illegal narcotic sales and use.
40-year-old Nekia Whitaker admitted to authorities of possessing methamphetamine in her home and purse.
After a search, OPSO SCAT team members found five grams of methamphetamine in her purse. The search in the house yielded 1 suspected hydrocone tablet, one handgun, approximately one gram of loose suspected methamphetamine and approximately four grams of suspected cocaine.
Post Miranda, Whitaker claimed ownership of the suspected methamphetamine inside her purse. She said she planned to sell it for a profit of $125. She also claimed ownership of the suspected methamphetamine and knew about the handgun inside the home but denied knowledge of the suspected cocaine.
Whitaker was arrested and transported to OCC.
She was charged with illegal carrying weapon (presence of narcotics), two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Schedule II and possession with intent/distribute/manufactor of CDS-II.
Her bond was set at $19,500.
