(10/8/18) The Siloam Springs Police Department arrested two people, who operated Little Darlings Day Care, after officers found drugs in their possession on Sunday, according to a news release. 

On Sunday, officers responded to the 1100 block of Country Lane in Siloam Springs in reference to a welfare check on the occupants, according to the news release.

Officers say Wayne and Barbara Hartley operated Little Darlings Day Care out of the home. 

“While inside the home, officers observed what they believed were marijuana plants,” the news release states. 

Officers say they found thirteen (13) harvested marijuana plants, approximately two (2) pounds of marijuana, nineteen (19) firearms, seventy-five (75) grams of Kratom, and over thirty-one thousand ($31,000.00) dollars in cash.

“The owners of the residence, Wayne and Barbara Hartley were arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail and are charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms and Possession of a Controlled Substance,” the news release states. 

At this time the focus of the investigation remains on the aforementioned charges, according to the news release.  

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are also looking into any potential child endangerment that may have occurred, according to the news release.
