(4/3/19) Did you know that 64 years ago today a Louisiana State Police Trooper stopped Elvis Presley?

LSP said, “on this day in 1955, a #Trooper stopped a pink & white 1954 #Cadillac being driven by none other than Elvis Presley. 20-year-old Presley was stopped on US 171 in Caddo Parish for driving 80 mph in a 60 mph zone.”

Presley was taken to the Caddo Parish Jail where he posted bond.

The bond was for $25 and Presley left with his Tennessee driver’s license and car.

LSP said, “one can only imagine that when he finished posting bond the jailers said ‘Elvis has left the building…'”
