(4/3/19) The Murphy Arts District keeps getting better and today officials broke ground on a new boutique hotel.
The Haywood Hotel is a $14 million project that is set to open in May 2020.
The four-story hotel will have 70 rooms and a full-service bar with limited food.
The new addition to the district will be an economic boost for El Dorado.
The Haywood will employ 20 people and host 22,000 overnight guests a year.
It will generate an estimated $250,000 in annual sales tax revenue as well as at least $2.25 million in overall annual revenue.
