NELA Boys and Girls Clubs gets a $2,500 donation

Local News

Kids at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Louisiana got something extra to smile about today.

Brookshire’s and Super One foods donated $2,500.

The Executive Director William Hall says it will all go towards their after school programs, which help educate over 100 kids from across Northeast Louisiana.

“It focuses on education through the power hour, which is our homework time. As well as higher learning activities, which is really learning with a purpose. Some type of fun with a purpose where the kids do activities and they don’t think they’re learning but they do,” says Hall.

Hall says the program has helped 65% of it’s kids reach their schools’ 3.0 honor roll.

The money donated today was raised through the Brookshire Grocery Company’s 2017 benefit golf tournament.
