UPDATE: Friday morning crash on US-165 leaves four injured, one dead

UPDATE: MONROE, La. — The Monroe Police Department has released more details about the crash on US-165 this morning.

According to MPD, the crashed happened near the intersection of US-165 and Centurylink Blvd. at approximately 10:30 AM.

Police say three vehicles were involved in the crash. Four people were injured during the accident and another died from their injuries.

They also say that the initial investigation shows that a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado was heading north on US-165 when, for unknown reasons, the truck crossed into oncoming traffic and struck two other vehicles.

The investigation into this crash is still ongoing.


UPDATE: MONROE, La. — According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development website, traffic is back to normal on US-165 North near Lumen Technologies.

The wreck happened in the southbound lane and law enforcement is currently on the scene.
