Morehouse Parish declares state of emergency

MOREHOUSE Parish — (4/16/19) Morehouse Parish is under a declared State of Emergency due to rising flood waters.

The Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office posted the information on Facebook Tuesday morning.

Sand bags may be obtained at the Parish Hwy Dept. on New Monroe Rd.

There is a limit to 25 per house hold, you must fill, load and haul your own and be a resident of Morehouse Parish.

Deputies say the National Weather Service has predicted that Bartholomew will rise to between 29′ to 29’6″( March 2019 levels) and crest 4-17-19. If we get between 2″ to 3″ of rain this week Bartholomew will come right back up to between 30′ to 30’6″(close to March 2016 levels) sometimes late this weekend or early next week.
