Monroe’s water improvement project has completed phase one

Local News

Phase one of Monroe’s water improvement project is now complete.

They have put in the ten inch water main feed to Century Village.

Officials have opened the treatment plant that will handle customers flood run-off.

And they say the million dollar project is a shoe-in to attract and retain people.

“It will have ripple effect. I mean people from all over the parish and adjacent parishes will work here and dine here and shop here. So it’ll be able to provide services and goods all across the region,” says Chris Caldwell, who is the federal co-chair for Delta Regional Authority.

Phase two will include building a new water storage tank and booster station.

Bids will begin in July.
