(4/18/19) A Monroe man was arrested in Carthage after police say they found 86 pounds of suspected marijuana in his vehicle.
According to the Carthage Police Department, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, Officer David Fitts saw a white semi truck pulling a flatbed trailer on Sabine Street and off of the truck route for through travel.
Officer Fitts stopped the truck and came in contact with the driver, Michael Darnell Tillman, 40 of Monroe, Louisiana.
When Officer Fitts came into contact with Tillman, he detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the cab of the truck.
Officer Fitts got written consent to search the vehicle and during that search he discovered 86 pounds of what is believed to be green marijuana wrapped in saran wrapped bundles and inside two trash bags.
Michael Tillman was arrested for Possession of Marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds and placed in the Panola County Detention Center.
