UPDATE: [10:00 p.m. 7/7/2017]

A house on North 22nd street in Monroe is home to the man police said killed 56-year-old Anthony Turner in Jackson Mississippi.

The man now charged with his murder is 25-year-old Johnny Ray Wilson.

“Allegedly Johnny Ray produced a handgun and shot the victim once in the head,” Commander Tyree Jones with the Jackson Police Department said.

Police arrested Wilson where we were only hours before at the Peachland Mobile Home Park in Ruston.

It’s just down the street from where deputies found Turner’s stolen car, which they said Wilson drove and abandoned.

“We believe Johnny Ray Wilson and J’Marquis Moore worked in concert with each other,” Commander Jones added.

Police said J’Marquis Moore is Wilson’s partner and they live together at the house in Monroe.

He’s charged with aggravated assault, auto theft, kidnapping and accessory after Turner’s killing.

“After Johnny Ray Wilson allegedly shot him that’s when he shot the other victim and kidnapped him from the location and took the victim’s car and drove him to Monroe, Louisiana,” Commander Jones said.

Police said Wilson and Moore kidnapped another man whom Wilson shot, then dropped him off at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

“All of these individuals know each other and based on evidence and information we have there was some sort of dating relationship between the individuals as well,” Commander Jones added.
