Man arrested after brandishing a rifle at UPS terminal in Ruston, according to police

RUSTON, La - One man has been arrested after allegedly brandishing an AR style rifle at a UPS terminal in Ruston.

On Friday 13, 2018, the Lincoln parish Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a man with a gun at the UPS terminal in Ruston.

The caller stated that a man, Dontavious R. Alexander, had entered the terminal enquiring about a missing package.  

Alexander then exited the terminal and drove his vehicle to the rear of the building.

There he was observed removing an AR style rifle from the vehicles trunk.

The caller added that it appeared he had loaded the weapon. 

Deputies arrived on the scene a few minutes after the call and located Dontavious R. Alexander sitting inside his vehicle.

Alexander was removed from his vehicle and detained.  

Inside the vehicle, deputies located a fully loaded FN SCAR rifle and over 250 rounds of ammunition, Oxycontin, alprazolam, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  

Alexander was placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office.

His bond has been set at $1,057,000.
