(12/18/18) The Louisiana Marathon is happening early next year and Governor John Bel Edwards is running in the 5K.

Governor Edwards said, “get moving and stay active” and he is leading by example during the 2019 Louisiana Marathon Weekend.

Organizers said, “the Louisiana Marathon is excited to announce an improved Louisiana State Challenge, in which we are challenging all state workers to compete in one of the events taking place during the 2019 Louisiana Marathon Weekend.”

The Louisiana Marathon is giving state workers a little extra incentive by offering the winning division a trophy and a free lunch from FRESHJUNKIE.

According to organizers, “this aligns with our goal of helping the State of Louisiana and its residents embrace a more active lifestyle to become a healthier, fitter state.”

Louisiana Marathon events are occurring from January 18 – January 20, 2019.
