Local radio stations donate $35K from listener fundraiser to Boley Elementary

Local News

(4/24/19) Nearly two weeks ago Boley Elementary burned to the ground, but the community is still pouring out love and support.

Today at George Welch Elementary, local radio stations 92.7 FM and 88.7 FM The Cross presented Boley Elementary’s principal with a check for $35,000.

The stations started a listener fundraiser on the day of the fire.

Principal Sandy Bates says that the money will go to help teachers buy all of the supplies they need.

“The community has stepped up in every way, not only in monetary donations, but the students have everything they need. What we’ll use this for is to help teachers replenish their classrooms,” said Principal Bates.

Principal Bates says the school community is so thankful to the Arklamiss for opening their hearts and wallets to help Boley Elementary get back on its feet.
