A new king of Louisiana seafood was crowned at the 9th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-off.
Chef Blake Phillips of Sage in Monroe earned the title after preparing a delicious blackened grouper,  fava bean, and sweet potato puree.
Organizers say Phillips beat out eight of the state’s best chefs.
Lieutenant Governor, Billy Nungesser, says he’s looking forward working with Phillips to help promote Louisiana’s seafood industry.
Phillips’ first duty as king of Louisiana seafood will be to represent the state as the great American seafood cook-off held on August 6th in New Orleans.
