(1/16/19) The Krewe of Harambee will hold its 14th Annual Mardi Gras /MLK Day Parade and Festivities on Monday, January 21, 2018, in Downtown Shreveport.

This year’s festivities begin with the “Hopes and Dreams Breakfast” at 8:00 a.m. at the Shreveport Petroleum Club where scholarships are awarded to students who met the criteria and submitted essays. Tickets are $20 per person.

The parade follows the breakfast and rolls at 1:00 p.m. through downtown Shreveport from Municipal Auditorium with Grand Marshal Adrian Perkins, Mayor of Shreveport, featured guests, The New Orleans Stilt Walkers along with local and out of town krewes, floats, queens, kings, bands, antique cars, civics groups, youth groups, churches, cheer squads, dance lines, etc. Immediately following the parade is the band showcase in front of the Municipal Auditorium.
The parade route is east on Milam from Elvis Presley Boulevard, left on Edwards, left on Texas and back to the Municipal.
