A suspect is in custody following a high speed chase that ended with a crash at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo.
According to Monroe Police, the incident happened shortly after 2 a.m. Monday when officers attempted to stop Javarro Eleam for a traffic violation.
Eleam then led police on a high speed chase lasting 30 minutes before crashing through two enclosures at the zoo.
Authorities tell us no animals were hurt.
Eleam was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of Reckless Operation, Resisting an Officer, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
His bond is set at $1,000.
