Gov. Edwards in town today talking agriculture

(1/18/19) Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards was in town today.

Governor Edwards spoke at the Ag Expo about the importance of agriculture-business in Louisiana, and our impact around the world. 

Noting how a project at the Port of Baton Rouge would benefit a timber operation in Morehouse Parish that makes wood pellets for the UK.

Louisiana’s agriculture industry has an $11 Billion economic impact for our state.

Gov. Edwards said, “So when you say that farming and ranching is the back bone of Louisiana’s economy. That is an  understatement.”

Edwards also touted the latest numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau on Louisiana’s economic growth over the past few years with the number of jobs growing every month since October 2017, and reaching the lowest unemployment rate in state history in April 2018.
