(4/10/19) Today was a big day for about 170 little ones in Franklin Parish.
The Franklin Parish Public Library unveiled their ‘Talk, Read, Play Everyday in Franklin’ project.
The partnership between the Children’s Coalition and the Franklin Parish Public Library is all in an effort to put a book in every child’s hand.
The COMO foundation awarded $4,000 to the early childhood education hub.
Onie Parker with the Franklin Parish Public Library has been an educator for over 30 years and says that starting early is a must.
Parker said, “Children learn early and so I think the earlier we can start teaching them and working with them is the best for them. And I think this particular program enforces that and gives us an opportunity to help the children.”
Parents are encouraged to enjoy the center with their kids.
