Former Louisiana Tech football star, and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Carlos Henderson has been arrested for drug possession in West Monroe.

Henderson was a passenger in a car that got pulled over for going 84 miles per hour in a 60 miles per hour zone on I-20 Sunday.

An officer smelled marijuana, but Henderson and the driver, Alejandra Aviles-Jimenez, denied having any on them and allowed a search.

Police say they found raw marijuana on Henderson’s seat, and pieces of a pot cigar in a water bottle.

Then they checked Henderson’s mouth, and say he had a thick green residue on his tongue.

At that point he admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day.

Henderson has been charged with first offense possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

The Broncos released a statement Sunday night, saying, “we are aware of the issue involving Carlos Henderson and are gathering more information.”
