Former Arkansas lawmaker pleads guilty to theft

LITTLE RIVER COUNTY, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – (4/12/19) A former Arkansas state representative will soon learn her sentence, after pleading guilty to stealing thousands of dollars of Little River County Chamber of Commerce funds.

Officials said that at the time, Fonda Hawthorne was executive director of the organization. 

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Her sentencing is scheduled for May 21.

Hawthorne represented the Fourth District of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2013 to 2015.
