Flood damage assessment begins in Arkansas

ARKANSAS (KNWA) – (6/7/19) Red Cross volunteers from all over the nation are putting a price tag on the damage left behind by historic flooding in the River Valley.

We spoke with a family, the Tates, who say they are in the process of tearing everything down to rebuild, but Cathy says they already have people lined up to get things back to normal.

Other families will need a little more help.

The American Red Cross says volunteers started assessing neighborhood damage on wednesday.

Susanne Peters is a volunteer who came from Chicago.

She says classifying home damage is only the first step, the next is to determine the needs of the family.
