Father of murder victim wants justice for his son

(1/29/19) The Columbia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Sunday morning homicide.

Wallace Antonio Turner, 39, of Waldo, AR was found lying in the middle of the road with a gun shot wound to the head.

“It’s killing me. They took my only son,” said Wallace Turner Sr., the victim’s dad.

Sunday morning was the last time Turner’s son would go to the E-Z Mart gas station and order his favorite cup of coffee. He described his death as an execution style killing.

“He got shot one time close range,” said Turner. “Powder burns and everything on his head.”

Turner’s body lay in the street near the Waldo Sewer Pond off West Dempsey Road, a location not even a mile from his home.

“He was here in the middle of the road faced down,” said Turner. “It was a lot of blood out here but they washed all the blood with the fire trucks.”

Just last year, Turner’s father had a stent put in his heart. His son’s death is only adding injury and pain to a wound that is still healing.

“He meant the world to me,” said Turner.

His son was a father of four young children. The only thing Turner wants now is to see his son’s killer behind bars.

“If I have to sell every car in my yard, I want justice. I want justice without me having to do it myself. I really do,” said Turner.

The investigation is still ongoing. If you have any information about this crime, please call (870)-234-5655 or email tips@columbiacountysheriffar.org
