(8/30/18) A Spearsville man told his father he expected to be arrested after he left bruises on his son’s legs and buttocks.

The 10-year-old boy told Farmerville Elementary School officials and an investigator with the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office that his father whipped him with a belt for eating a can of sausage that belonged to the suspect.

Timothy Shane Hearron, 47, of 2300 Green Bridges Rd., Spearsville, told a sheriff’s investigator that he whipped his son for stealing money, food and for urinating on the floor.

Hearron was booked Aug. 24 into the parish detention center in Farmerville on a felony charge of cruelty to a juvenile. He has been released on a $5,000 bond.

Sheriff Dusty Gates said the state’s Department of Children and Family Services placed the child temporarily into the custody of the grandfather.
