BATON ROUGE, La. – (4/12/19) 24 years ago, Shareef Cousin was convicted of murder and spent three years on death row.
He was 16-years-old and he was innocent.
Today, he was in Baton Rouge telling reporters that he’d like to ask lawmakers what they would do if they had a child the same age in the same situation?
A House bill, if passed, would let Louisiana voters decide whether to eliminate the death penalty as a sentencing option.
It would not affect those already on death row.
