A massive storm swept through El Dorado around 2 a.m. on Monday, woke up residents, and left them to find severe storm damage.
Jesse Bates is one of many residents in Parker’s Chapel who is left cleaning up the mess from the storm.
“We moved here from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’ve been through three hurricanes down there and never had this kind of damage,” said Bates.
About six of Bates’ trees fell down. One was uprooted and crushed his fence, and egg sized hail damaged his roof.
“I had a lot of my neighbors come over during daylight with chainsaws and everything and they helped us open both of these roads,” said Bates.
Bates said support and help from neighbors is what’s keeping the community going.
Entergy officials said that power is supposed to be restored to everyone in the area by later on today.
