EL DORADO, Ark. - 2018 September 11
El Dorado has its own memorial to the victims and heroes of 9/11, on the grounds of the El Dorado Conference Center.
It features 699 pounds of steel, with a timeline, an American flag, and names of victims from Arkansas.
Organizers say they will always hold this piece of history and those affected, in their hearts.
"It is so important even for us in this community to reach out to our children that they know and they can come and actually put their hands on history, and they can actually be a part of history here in El Dorado," said Sterling Claypoole, El Dorado Police and Fire Sr. Chaplin and Professor of Psychology.
The memorial has been in the community for seven years.
