Shreveport’s latest victim of domestic violence is Rannita Williams and one of her childhood friends is encouraging men and women to stand up against domestic violence.
Pastor Charles Johnson, organized a domestic violence rally outside the Caddo Parish courthouse Saturday morning. Community members and Shreveport City Council members Jeff Everson and Jerry Bowman also prayed alongside each other, listening to stories from people who lost loved ones and witnessed abuse.
“Today was about affecting the conscience of a person, but everybody just share a message, share a message about domestic violence, I think we will affect change and affect the community,” said Johnson. This rally is for his friend and other women who have been abused.
He is also asking everyone in the Shreveport community to stand up against domestic violence.
