OPSO: Arrests made in Lakeshore Subdivision vehicle burglaries

OUACHITA Parish - UPDATE (6/21/18): The investigation into the recent vehicle burglaries in the Lakeshore Subdivision in Monroe has led to the arrest of two juvenile suspects.

Evidence developed during the investigation determined the suspects were also involved in vehicle burglaries and one residential burglary in the Presidential Estates Subdivision as well. 

Both juveniles have been booked in Green Oaks Detentions Center on eleven counts of Vehicle Burglary and one count of Simple Burglary of a Dwelling each. 

The identity of the suspects cannot be released due to their juvenile status.

During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at the residence of one of the juvenile suspects.  The results of that search led to the recovery of stolen items and also narcotics.

Carla Thomas, age 35 of Monroe and D’Angelo Young, age 34 of Monroe were subsequently arrested at the residence and charged with one count of Dist. With Intent/Mfg. of CDS I (Marijuana) and one count of Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia each.  Both were booked in OCC.

The investigation into the burglaries is continuing and more arrests are expected.



Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators are currently investigating a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Lakeshore Subdivision early in the morning on June 16th, 2018. 

The suspects are believed to be two black males, shown in the video surveillance committing a burglary. 

It appears the suspects are armed while committing the acts.
