Coronavirus in Louisiana: Lousiana reporting 1,288 new cases, 8 new deaths in Saturday’s update

BATON ROUGE, La. — (June 13, 2020) — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,288 new cases and 8 new deaths on Saturday, June 13. This brings the state’s total number of cases to 46,283 and the total number of deaths to 2,883.

In Northeast Louisiana, there were 213 new cases and 1 new deaths reported. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 1,744 cases and 59 deaths, an increase of 65 cases Friday’s update.

A new death was reported in West Carroll Parish.

The LDH also reported 7 fewer hospitalizations, bringing the total to 542. The number of those hospitalized who are also using ventilators increased by 2, bringing the total to 76.

Here is a list of local parishes reporting cases and death:

  • Ouachita Parish – 1,744 cases, 59 deaths (65 new cases)
  • Franklin Parish – 415 cases, 13 deaths (20 new cases)
  • Union Parish – 409 cases, 20 deaths (24 new cases)
  • Madison Parish – 261 cases, 2 deaths (10 new cases)
  • East Carroll Parish – 222 cases (6 new cases)
  • Lincoln Parish – 227 cases, 18 deaths (25 new cases)
  • Winn Parish – 211 cases, 3 deaths (14 new cases)
  • Richland Parish – 163 cases, 3 deaths (3 new cases)
  • Jackson Parish – 158 cases, 15 deaths (4 new cases)
  • Morehouse Parish – 153 cases, 6 deaths (15 new cases)
  • Catahoula Parish – 130 cases, 3 deaths (6 new cases)
  • West Carroll Parish – 104 cases, 2 death (5 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Concordia Parish – 105 cases, 5 deaths (8 new cases)
  • Caldwell Parish – 79 cases, 1 death (3 new cases)
  • La Salle Parish – 76 cases (4 new cases)
  • Tensas Parish – 22 cases (1 new case)
