City of Monroe Looking to Make Sidewalk Improvements

Local News

The City of Monroe is asking the Louisiana Department of Transportation for a grant to provide additional funds for sidewalk improvements at four different locations in the city.

City council members unanimously voted to turn in the application to the 2016 Transportation Alternative Program Grant.

The grant money would be used to make Pedestrian Infrastructure Improvements and also help the four areas become compliant with guidelines put forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The four locations are Desiard Street, Jackson Street, Louisville Avenue and Winnsboro Road.
