MONROE, La (KTVE/KARD)– Mayor Friday Ellis announces all City of Monroe facilities will be closed:

  • Friday, December 23, 2022, and Monday, December 26, 2022, for the Christmas holiday. Offices will reopen Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

City of Monroe facilities will also be closed:

  • Friday, December 30, 2022, and Monday, January 2, 2023, for the New Year’s holiday.
  • Offices will reopen Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

The holiday trash schedule will be as follows:

  • Garbage normally collected on Friday, December 23, 2022, will be collected Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
  • Garbage normally collected Monday, December 26, 2022, will be collected Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
  • Garbage normally collected on Friday, December 30, 2022, will be collected as normal.
  • Garbage normally collected on Monday, January 2, 2023, will be collected Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

The Monroe Transit System will halt bus services:

  • Monday, December 26, 2022, for the Christmas holiday.
  • Regular bus services will resume Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
