(3/8/19) The Caddo Parish Commission is going to have to wait before they can start making plans for the removal of the Confederate monument at the Caddo Parish Court House.

Although a federal appeals court dismissed the lawsuit to block the removal of the monument. the ruling can be appealed to the supreme court.

“I hate to speculate on a time frame but there will be a deadline given in a letter to them and I know there’s a lot of citizens that are out there waiting to see this happen and just want to let them know that we are constantly grinding trying to get this done,” said Caddo Commissioner Lyndon Johnson.

Commissioner Johnson says if the UDC does not remove monument the commission will pay for the removal.

He says it’s hard to say how much it will cost.

We called and emailed the United Daughters of Confederacy and their attorney several times and no one has responded.
